Fiddle leaf fig vs. Money tree: All of my brighter areas were occupied so I had no choice but to keep the fiddle leaf fig next to my money tree, which has been growing fine in this location for over 4 years. While the money tree loses about one older set of leaves every few months, this FLF just kept losing foliage until nothing green was left (📷2). Now whether this FLF can still put out new growth is still to be seen but it most certainly will never look the way it did before – that growth structure represents the conditions of the greenhouse (📷3), which cannot be replicated in a typical home. As such, all plants will adjust by optimizing their foliage for their new conditions – the adjustment is less noticeable on some plants but for others, it can be rather disheartening.
