There was a time that all I wanted in the world was a little farm where I could raise my family and grow our food. Now, that is exactly what exists outside my door. In watching it unfold, a new dream was formed in my heart – to share this beautiful life with others and teach them the lessons we’ve learned along the way. Welcome to our journey, friend.     Someone at a plant swap wanted ginger, so I brought her some and she was all disappointed when she saw it and said, “…this is.. like.. edible ginger? I wanted the ornamental kind…” 😂🤷‍♀️ lol I was so confused why someone wouldn’t want an edible thing that is ALSO pretty.

    Those pumpkins are amazing! How did you ward off the squash bugs? Any tips or tricks? We are in Rock Hill not too far from you and I haven’t been able to grow pumpkins because of the aweful squash bugs 😢.

    Someone where I live (Minneapolis) does urban foraging for ornamental sweet potatoes. They are doing it now as we are definitely at the end of our season. In my opinion- no harm no foul, most likely it will all end up in the trash

    I would stash pumpkins wherever I could! The milk room, chicken brooder isn’t being use now right?! It’s not going to get super cold down your way for a long time and those pumpkins would make great treats for both man and beast as the days get shorter!
