  1. Huw I would listen to anything you had to say anytime anywhere! My garden has been made possible for me, a little old lady of 75 with not great health to do what I love ❤️ by taking your ideas and apply. This year I put up enough food to get thru the year without the grocery store (for most food stuff)

  2. thank you Huw . Great video and validation for me. I had to use a lot of imagination on my 0.1 acre to create, expand and manage the vegetable garden this past summer. Sometimes you have to think outside the box to get things done and that requires a bit of imagination ! 😊😊

  3. What if, so many people don't have time to garden, but have time to have weekends away!!! The way so many non gardeners live is What if they smelt the roses!!!

  4. As a retired engineer, "What If" is part of my daily life. When working on the beds, or in the greenhouse, I will look at something and wonder "What if I….". Next thing I know I am changing something. A good example is our years of struggling with growing Rhubarb because of our heavy clay soil, which resulted in the Rhubarb staying too wet and developing crown rot. One day while working on a nearby raised bed, I wondered "What if I put the Rhubarb in raised beds?" I got some 36" fire rings, filled them with some of my homemade potting soil, and put the Rhubarb plants in them. The Rhubarb plants have thrived ever since. What if I had not moved them?

  5. Something that might work in place of the rabbit fence, and would be more attractive, would be to plant some of the more prickly varieties of squash, or some other prickly ground cover, as a garden border. It would only be there in the summer, of course (and rabbits can do a lot of damage to fruit trees in the winter).

  6. I really appreciate that all your videos aren’t about “how to grow this and that”. ALSO, kudos to Sam wind shields on mics are a wonderful thing!

  7. Usually I ask, how do I, or how can I, because I already know the answer to, what if.
    Maybe I'm thinking it wrong.

  8. To be honest, a gardening channel was the last place from I've expected such a deep yet practical analyze of the "What if…"
"What if…" thinking should really be incorporated in to our everyday life. Thanks for sharing.

  9. My what if this year was – what if we befriend the neighbourhood rabbits and only grow tomatoes, onions, zucchini, squash and herbs? Turns out 3 rabbits hung out in the backyard, with occasional nibbles at onions and marigolds (eventually protected). Two left after a month and 1 remained for another 2 months. Now they are nowhere to be found, no litters under our deck, and we had a great tomato harvest. Zucchini and squash were never touched. The bunnies rid eat some weeds – dandelions and thistles.

  10. Great video Huw, always learning new ideas from you. Please let me know what Patagonia sweater you are wearing. Hope they sponsor your gear :).
