Life on the flower farm in the fall is pretty crazy–there’s so much to do, from harvesting and drying flowers to saving seed, planting native perennials and more– add into all that the demolition work we are doing right now and well, there’s a LOT going on!

In today’s video we will show you the plant we shouldn’t have put into our meadow, give you a tour of our awful mudroom, and take you on a flower harvest! We’ll also show how we use chicken wire to make arrangements without the use of floral foam.

Lots going on in today’s video! We’ll see you again soon!

  1. Love, love your videos. Very inspiring… lovely farm and how environmentally conscious you are , ❤. Learn so much from you. Thanks. I’m trying to plant more native plants in my garden this fall.

  2. Sheep ignore directions from humans and follow their prime directive to munch whatever delicacies they find to eat. I like roses and dahlias too, but not for eating. I look forward to seeing your renovations and certainly understand why you need a mud room. That staircase invites disaster. Good luck!

  3. I've never seen a house more in need of, of a mudroom, I mean goodness gracious that's a ridiculous back entrance to the house, someone just cut a hole in the wall where the stair bends! Bless you, you are the most mudroom needing person I've ever seen. And by the way I want to acknowledge your recent wisdom tooth surgery, and how brave you are to persevere with this video, I know it's not easy on you.

  4. I love your videos and your mission for regenerative farming/gardening! We recently moved to Nebraska, and I want to implement all your tips and tricks for gardening.

  5. Hi, i was wondering what your age is and how you're holding up physicaly with all that hard work! 😮

  6. My sheep would have definitely trashed the whole garden, very impressed with your well behaved sheep

  7. Love your sheep!!! You cant be mad at them with their cute faces!!

  8. We have a couple of goats and they managed to break down some fencing and eat our ENTIRE corn patch this summer. Gotta love them but MAN can they be destructive haha

  9. Don’t the birds find the target in the background (at 6.46) just a little ominous?
Only kidding! 😂 I know they are safe with you. Great vid, as always.

  10. Which nursery do you get local natives from? I’m in Colorado near you. I know you grow a lot of yours but heard you mention a nursery in this video. When you mentioned Stock flowers are they Gillyflowers? Which variety? Would like to try cold flower growing and this may work

  11. How do you not have a million grasshoppers!? I live less than 5 miles from you and have giant gross grasshoppers all over my dahlias and zinnias 🤢😭
