  1. As we can see, if you plant ALL YEAR ROUND, you should probably not let your old roots stay in place because they won't get the time they really need to decompose. Better to put them in an actual 'Compost pile' where they will break down and later you can feed them back to your beds. Obviously, roots do the same thing as finely shredded paper… they ball up! Not what you want! It's your garden DIG THEM OUT if that's what you determine you need to do. I, for one, ain't mad at ya! Be blessed!

  2. I had one of those black and yellow narly looking spiders is my rose bed. I even named him Freddie. He got pretty big. I don't love spiders, but they really help with keeping the grasshoppers and crickets under control. One of my house guests thought they were being 'helpful' 😢 and killed my 'Freddie'. 🫤

  3. Hello hon saw your video last night.
I would suggest to add vermiculite for moisture plus it will retain your fertizer and perlite to make your dirt fluffy to help with compacted dirt.❤

  4. Asia, on the asparagus, can you add soil and cover the crowns after they get established? Mine are finishing their 2 year and I have never added soil or compost. Should I?

  5. With your super busy schedule, do you have time to make tinctures or salves? I finally made tinctures, after 2 years of putting it off. They're 1 week in and have 6 more to go.

  6. I had no idea how truly horrible that comfrey tea smelled until I made some myself my goodness that is the worst lol

  7. Love love love your videos. I especially enjoy your do what works for YOU in YOUR garden approach. I also have a yellow garden spider (Argiope aurantia). I think they’re good luck.

  8. Hi Asia. I just wanted to thank you for taking time to make videos to share with all of us. I look forward to your videos twice a week {and sometimes more often}

  9. I just saw the video of your urban food garden on ‘Exploring Alternatives.’
Your garden is an inspiration and you have a new follower.
We are in Southern Ontario and gradually working towards a similar setup. This year we’ve had a bumper crop of peaches, plums, tomatoes, garlic, parsley … I think you get the idea.
I’ll certainly be dropping by to see what’s happening in your backyard in future!

  10. Hi, love your video's! So nice to see a truthful story with all the good and (fortunately just some) bad on growing at home. Especially the positive way you do your vids. You're awesome, have a great week!

  11. I just found you on Exploring Alternatives. You are super inspiring! Thank you for sharing your amazing garden and your experiences with us! 🙏

  12. Hello Asia, I just found you after watching Exploring Alternatives, loved that video! What I do with my tomato suckers is root them in water until you see them root in a cool shady spot, I do them in my screened in patio, then you sill see which ones root and which ones don't, hope this helps💞

  13. Subscribed!! Love your garden and tips thank you! Can't wait to watch all of your vids😊

  14. Good morning. I subscribed. Saw you on Exploring Alternatives and you are inspirational. Was impressed at not only how you taught yourself to successfully garden but what a great attitude you have. I subscribe to other homestead channels but really like the way you express yourself. Can't wait to view your other videos. Thanks for sharing.

  15. Hello I just saw the video on Exploring Alternatives and was quite impressed with your work. i also have a small backyard garden, and subscribed to your channel right away. I am in zone 7a in Central Maryland, so we have a similar climate although your might be a tad warmer. Your garden is impressive and I shall watch more of your videos! So glad that I found you and your channel!

  16. Hello Asia, saw you on exploring alternatives. You rock!! I enjoy your content and have subscribed to your channel.

  17. A lot of people ( not always real gardeners) stick to their rules a bit too much. Nothing beats experience and trying stuff out and finding what does work for you. So dig those root balls if it helps! 😋

  18. I’m new to your channel!! Absolutely love ❤️ ❤ your garden 🥬!! Remember to shake out those root balls… there is still a lot of soil left inside. Thanks for sharing!😊

  19. I have so many questions! Ginger! I tried twice and they went upstairs, same with lemongrass, quite a few herbs and so many other things. I grow in pots. I am here for all the knowledge. I like how you pulled a harvest out of your pockets. I remember going through my pockets and I pulled out tomato seeds, dried beans, pepper and a tiny carrot which I ate. Lots of laughter and crazy looks.
