  1. Oh, please share your mother's boiled custard recipe. It sounds so good. My mother used to make custard pies. Love custard but don't have a good recipe. 😊

  2. I'll have to get some comfrey for next season. I'm happy to hear that your knee is healing well! Some of my garden got away from me this year with weeds but I did get a pretty good harvest of most things. Have to see if I have any sweet potatoes soon and get my beans pulled and shelled. I'm not voluntarily participating in the "test" either. Everything is being disconnected and turned off. I'm hoping to get eggs from my new flock (someone stole my flock last year) soon and I can't wait! I would love for you to share that recipe for boiled custard at some point. It sounds delicious!

What a sight just to see all the happy faces
    Praising God in heavenly places

  4. Maui actually ran their own alert yesterday advising their citizens to have 2 weeks food and water stored.

  5. Good Morning Kaye – So glad to hear you are getting better and having lots of help on the homestead. Love the new patio set and hope the weather holds for you to get to enjoy it. It appears that the national alert today cannot be turned off on my phone – all other types of alerts from state/local/amber can be shut off – so I will just shut the phone down. Probably go off when I turn it back on later anyway. I have never had boiled custard so will need to check out some recipes for that unless you do a video – pretty please? My thing growing up was tapioca pudding which some people hate but I think it is awesome! Have a blessed week and fun shelling beans..

  6. Hi, Kaye! Beautiful patio set!! You'll get a lot of good use out of it! Glad you're healing up well. I know what you're going through with those eggs: Egg salad tea sandwiches in the afternoon; potato salad, Pound cakes, omelets, French toast, and pickled eggs are all good choices. Hollar if you need a recipe!

  7. I'm so thankful that your knee is healing! I'm not from the south (OH-IO girl, here!) but I am well acquainted with what you call "boiled custard." I've made it myself, and we love it! But I grew up with baked custard, with a sprinkling of nutmeg on top. Or sometimes a caramel flan. Wow! I'm about ready to put most of my garden to bed, except for the fall/winter part. I grew an heirloom squash that produced more squash than my zucchini did, so today I used it to make "zucchini pineapple." Looks like pineapple, and it will taste like pineapple because I cooked and canned it in pineapple juice. I just came in from my garden, and there are 3 more of those crazy squash out there!😂

  8. Funny how we can cooperate with Russia for an emergency alert or space station stuff and yet remain perpetual mortal enemies. Fake fake fake. Wake wake wake.

  9. Good to hear you are healing Kaye! Your knowledge of herbs and cures help many connect with nature and each other! God bless You and your dear Mother! 😉💜

  10. Thanks for the update Kaye, happy you are doing much better. I love the patio set 💡smart! Looks attractive as well you could place the plants around the patio in some fashion where you can see them while sitting, not in a fashion to trip over though. No pun intended!
Your right a great place to video and chat from the sun color was great.
    🎬🌻

  11. Thanks! I like the interviews and everything you are doing on your Homestead. Hopefully others will contribute to help.

  13. The national alert test just came up ! 2:17 in ky no warning just a test yes States presidential Alert and states This is a test of the wireless Emergency alert system..states the purpose and then states no action required.

  14. I appreciate emergency alerts And testing them is important The
Emergency alert system in Maui didn’t happen

We had them periodically last winter for
    Flash flood warnings jn California

  15. Kaye, my family recipe for true Southern boiled custard is one thing my son says is a must for Christmas. It is delicious, rich and is a once per year must. We never, ever had egg nog. That was considered a northern thing. My recipe for a half gallon uses 5 eggs. I have never made more than that at one time. I enjoyed this video so much from a fellow Tennessean. Blessings.

  16. Glad you are doing well and healing. Would love your mama's boiled custard recipe….sounds delicious 😋! Thank you; we serve an awesome God! 😊

  17. Yes. Emergency alert being tested today. (from FEMA and the FCC) For public safety alerts, Amber alerts, active shooter alerts, severe weather and natural disaster alerts, etc. Glad to hear your knee is recovering well!

  18. I wasn't worried at all about the alert, we had the same one in August of 2022, nothing Burger.

  19. I enjoyed the chat Kaye. Will you be sharing the boiled custard recipe? I love custard pie but can never make it smooth. Do you make cooking videos? I'd watch you making the custard and attempt to do the same.
Enjoy your Blessings and healing from above 🌻

  20. I was at work and I totally forgot to shut my phones down. Both my business and personal cell went off at the same time. Scared me!

  21. The alert testing is actually a good thing. People need to calm down and think rationally. Not everything is a sign. We've been having these tests since I was a kid. Except then it was just your TV set and radio, because that's all we had back then.

  22. Just remember to lower the umbrella ☂ during storms or winds and it will last for years take umbrella in for winter and cover patio furniture if you want it too last for years I did and it did! Just recommendations that’s all! 🤗 ok will shut up now! 🎬 never had custard!

  23. Please make a video of the making of Boil Custard! I would love the recipe. Glad you had a nice time and safe return.

  24. Glad you are getting well!
Heard you mention Kale and Chard for winter crops and for certain Red Russian Kale thrives all winter and gets even better. Got it replanted as well as 2 year old Kale tree that is still producing great. Chard is my new favorite green for salads and adding to wraps or dishes as a lettuce. So wonderful to have even in a snow. I have watched a video or two where carrots can be left in the ground and over winter very well. I have three successions of carrots planted
