You know those SciFi movies where they try to save humanity by freezing a group of them and sending them to a far away planet for colonizing? It feels like I’m doing that when I take cuttings and hold them in water until *I AM* ready to transplant them. Notice I didn’t say “until THEY are ready” – many soft vine cuttings can be transferred to soil immediately after cutting – this is how they do it at plant nurseries. The main reason I root them in water is because maintenance in water is easier than maintaining new cuttings in soil – keeping the soil evenly moist but not soggy is more work than just refilling a glass of water. In either case, 📷 2) sometimes they don’t all make it. 📷 3) I think this is several months of rooting
