Best to do a fresh cut on both scion and RS, then re-band or bandage. Until youre a little more practiced you can use small cuttings of panty hose to secure it. Stretch it and pull it over the top and secure to spines.
Will lock it in place and still allow it to breathe

I save the part that you’d normally throw away just so I have some of the cactus life juice on reserve for fixing it if it pops off within a few days. You should do a fresh cut on both and squeeze some life juice in it. You really can’t move it after about 5 minutes after cutting IMO.
