Unless you live in warmer USDA grow zones, it is a good idea to start rhizomes such as ginger, turmeric and Taro root indoors to get a head start on growth, before transplanting outside when your weather really warms up.

I like the little creatures that you have hanging out amidst your plants. It reminds me that I should start a few new basil plants. I’ve had one that’s been growing under lights all winter.
