That will tell you how much time you have left in the season. Once you know that number, you can check the Days to Maturity (DTM) on your seed packet and that will tell you if you can plant those seeds and get flowers before frost! Ariat is the BEST boot brand! Good choice. Farm girl advice – I would suggest Bogg boots over Muck boots. I find them much lighter and they stay water proof longer. I haven't tried the new ankle high muck boots though.
HISEA boots are great too…very comfortable!
Where I work the men are into fantasy football and they love it. It really brings the guys together – something in common for workers. It's fun for them!

Very curious to know if one of the pests in your new property is gophers? I’m also in 9b and am in a constant battle with gophers. Would be happy to learn if you have a plan to deal with them.

It's so fun to watch you plan and develop your new space! I lived in Davis for many years and left a piece of my heart in that town (I even skydived at the place near your house). Janey you had a great idea. Putting t-posts (You could paint them) on corners of ur beds and wrapping chicken wire. If you build it they will come 🐇🐇🐇. Bunny are hungry persistent cuteness and will mow down those fresh seedlings. The powder you have been using has to be consistently reapplied. If it rains there you go again. How about a couple outdoor cats🐺🐺
Aren't most raised beds no till? You can practice no till with in ground gardens. Serious question here. Just curious.
I have a severe reaction to ant bites so shoes are very important for me. I wore Ariat boots when my daughter rode horses and I found those boots were perfect for gardening as well. I wear them daily and love them. The garden bed look beautiful, especially when you are planting as the sun is going down. ❤

Van gogh sunflowers grow up to 10ft. would be a great sunflower to plant in one of the rare beds so it does not block out he beds behind it

Janey when you were sitting at the beginning of the video putting on your boots it reminded me of when our kids would watch Mr Rogers and at the beginning of every episode he would put on his special shoes to do his show. So much easer using gorilla cart/garden tuff carts. My husband is usually 4-6 FF leagues i usually do just 1 or 2 but i feel like fantasy football is such a normal thing for girls and guys now so cool. However i would also prefer to be gardening 😂

The only problem I see with sunflowers ,because I’ve tried it , is around November 10 our days (I’m is Santa Rosa)become so short that they don’t have enough sunlight hours and I’ve always thought and been told that that’s why it didn’t work for me, so I’m excited to see if it works for you !
Hi! So glad I found you and your channel yesterday. I’m in Louisiana and have been wanting to start a cut flower garden with no till but had no idea where to start. We’re in the same zone with completely different climates I’m sure, but gives me a good idea to start with! I went back and watched all your 2023 videos of your last cut flower garden too! So helpful.
Not sure how much you answer questions here, but I’m wondering with the no till method, it’s okay to plant straight into compost right away? And if I heard right you did 6 inches of compost?
I want to see these raised beds leveled. Once they are leveled up, especially the second one back toward the office (actually, all the ones on the side nearest the office seem a bit off).
