As many of you know I’ve been trying to grow my small nursery on a shoestring budget since it’s creation 3 years ago. Today I met a lovely fella that will sell me this for an incredibly low price. There’s a lot to figure out still but this is real potential

Hope it works out for you, looks like you’ll be doing that guy a favor to remove it!

I have done the job of taking one of these down and putting back up. Be warned it is A LOT OF WORK and much more than meets the eye.

Looks like a DIY hoophouse made with galvanized fence rail. Great for a low budget build assuming you can get decent plastic and wiggle wire for cheap too. Should be able to be broken down pretty quick.

Are you just taking it off his property for free? That’s the deal I would be making him

How much is he selling it for? And what are the dimensions? They’re pretty cheap on Amazon. Just going off the door height for reference, it isn’t a huge hoop house that could be a steal.

How long is it? You might be better to make it into two shorter tunnels. The reason for this is that airflow in the middle can end up really poor once the plastic is on, and they turn into ovens in the middle. I had a scenario just like this – actually a property we had considered buying. We went back and asked about the tunnels and yes, it’s a huge job to remove them and re-site them – but worth it, because they were a bargain. That was the problem he’d had – they were very long, and he told me about the overheating issue, so I divided them up into shorter tunnels, and they worked brilliantly for years!
