Wanted to go no lawn and decided on using cardboard to get rid of it. Several different plants:
Anemone, geranium, dianthus, butterfly weed, blue catmint, Jack of diamonds, autumn fire stonecrop, hemerocallis, yarrow, ice plants.
Anything else I should add this fall?
I will keep working on it next year. Any ideas or suggestions?

Nice work. Unsolicited Reddit advice here. I’ve been frequenting r/arborists a lot lately and learned those tree rings can be very bad for your trees. You might want to take a look at them. Can lead to girdling roots which can choke the tree out and kill it.
You could add some edible elements that you can use in your cooking. Thyme makes a nice ground cover and sage gets nice and bushy. Chives are also nice and easy and lavender smells great. Sedum is very popular with pollinators. Black eyed Susan’s get 2-3’ tall but flower for a long time and are striking. Some Irises, tulips and daffodils would also be nice in the early spring and you can just place them here and there, or I hear they can help to keep grass from creeping in when placed densely at the edge of a bed. I’d recommend going to Seedy Saturday in the spring. There are lots of cool seed companies and seed exchangers that are there. It’s a good place to talk to local gardeners and try out things that intrigue you. They used to do it in the main building at Brittania beach in February or March I think. I’d also encourage you to check out more local nurseries. The big box garden centres can be convenient, but they have less selection, especially of native plants, and the quality isn’t as high. We always like Ritchie’s Seed and Feed out on Innes when we lived in Ottawa. If you are interested in native plants, the Fletcher Wildlife garden next to the experimental farm/arboretum also has a spring fundraiser where they sell native plants. Looks way better already in my opinion and good luck!
