Why did my hydrangea flowers turn this off-white color?

Hydrangeas change color depending on the pH of the soil. If you’d had a lot of rain, that can change it

That’s part of the aging cycle of the blooms.

The pH needs to be more acidic if I’m not mistaken.

Seeing how multiple people have responded to this saying its the pH of the soil, soil pH doesn’t change flower color on varieties with white blooms, its just the aging of the blooms

It’s just the flowers ageing as others have said.

They will probably continue to change colour further with time.

Your panicle hydrangea cultivar- and this looks like a Limelight or a Little Lime, age to a dull green color. You’ve taken great care of it; when not watered enough, the blossoms can turn brown. As the shrub enters dormancy, the blossoms will turn brown at that time. Winter interest! Prune off in early to mid spring.

Doesn’t it depend on the acid levels in your soil?

I just bought one so when I brought it home I did some extensive research. Apparently some hydrangeas blooms can be affected by the soils ph.

Not all hydrangeas are the same! These are one of my favorites as I looove green blooms.

Mine bloom white, fade to light pink, and now they’re dark mauve. I leave the blooms on in winter after they’ve dried to beige.

Most of the “petals” you see are actually bracts and can be hung and dried very easily.
