Lately I’ve done everything I can for the season on the trees I have, so I’ve been going around and looking for interesting seedlings.
I love this little guy. I’ve had it about a month and it has put out a lot of new growth, thriving after being rescued. The movement is all natural, as it worked its way out of a decaying old trunk. Just letting it grow for now, and hoping that shape really hardens off. It was actually two trunks, but I wanted to redirect
The second picture is a winged elm I found with even crazier natural movement. I potted it up in soil I found nearby, but it didn’t like that and it’s leaves died before I realized what was going on and reported it in something with less clay. We will see if it comes back in the spring or if it is done. I really hope it comes back because it would make such a cool mame literati!
