There are concrete pots 1cm even less using fibre glass mesh ( more than one layer), you can not use the iron rods then. The concrete mix you use looks too fluidy maybe too much water is used? makes it weaker.?
Great Videos , always.
I see this in a metal mold. Filled with recycled plastic!
Wish we could see one of them bursting with leafy heads of cabbages or overflowing with flowers in dirt.
just saying' that I'm one of those viewers who like it when they cut the cake piece or eat the cornbread, right?
I love it!!
CSA concert cost way to much its $41 for 50 pounds. How many panels will 50 pounds make?
Could you colour the panels using a coloured plasticiser?
Good share, great Product idea. Thanks you.
There no strength in the corners. No metal net in them . They can crack easily.
Hi, how are you..
I enjoy watching videos. I'm a beginner, but I want to make a Cuban-style framework myself, so I failed to make it myself, so can I get a cement framework specification?
using the strongest Portland mix… I'll try cutting 1 inch pvc tubing with some sort of way to keep them separated and cut to length on the long side if the form…. this should reduce the weight by half 🥂
My English is very broken. Sen i send 👍.
You have a very good Ideas.
One thought about the forms, is that they don't have to be the same thickness all the way around. Just build a rectangular box, and put the step into the ends by adding a half-length piece to each end.
Grade a research
you need to start yourself a company that makes these great ready made forms , i'd buy them. for sure, that is a great way to make raised beds for planting anything….ty so much. i do not have all the tools you used , so i'd buy premade forms to do what i want to do.
Is this idea starting from Frank lloyd Wright textile blocks?
Hi there. Your plans don't include details about the concrete casting component, which IMO is critical!
Can you share more info about that in written form? I felt l knew how to do the woodworking part, but I could use some more written details on the concrete part of this project.
I'm happy to support you and your videos regardless!
Should add colorant to make it blend more naturally into garden setting
What about price '???
Amazing! Really gets me to want to do this too💪🏼 To add, you could put threaded inserts with bolts instead of screwing and unscrewing depending on the amount of times you're assembling/disassembling.
Could scoria be added in to make the panel even lighter and use less cement, or would that make it too brittle for this application?
I don't know who this guy is but he's a genius working with concrete forms and growing vegetables in raised garden boxes.
I want to make a long box about 8 feet long, about 20" deep, and 20" tall. I think this will be a good way to pour the panels, but I think I will use melamine to make it perfectly smooth for the bottom. And instead of overlapping the corners, I may add threaded inserts so I can bolt them together. I'm going to use it to grow bamboo for a privacy wall and will want to be able to take off the front panel when it is time to thin out the bamboo. Great idea in the video and comments!
Great detail,hreat video
Hypertufa is supposed to be 1/3 the weight and super strong:) I watched a video of a guy making two concrete steps for his front door area. He made a mold and then made a compass design in the mold with silicone. It imprinted into the concrete and stayed on the mold to be reused.
I love this video and his voice! Very calming. And the outcome is stunning! Architectural Digest material!
Your videos are the best. The most thorough explanations and diagrams.
going to make these.
Pretty cool! Can I order ?? I'm honestly just getting too old and tired but I like it a lot. I have a thin strip of land about 25 ft x 30". Can be sectioned or one run
Thank you for the series. The neighbors are already asking if I could make panels for them!
I live in southern Louisiana. Any tropical system which passes through will flood the area. Because of this, my house sits at an elevation of 5 1/2 feet above the yard. The problem everyone runs into is an inch or two of standing water in the yard after a heavy downpour, such as is happening as I am writing this. Frustration sets in as year after year, people lose their flowers and vegetables. A raised bed is almost a necessity. I currently grow my vegetables in fabric bags elevated on landscape timbers. High humidity, high temperatures and bugs quickly deteriorate less expensive items.
I've been looking for a way to make a border for my flower bed. I was actually thinking about making a silicone mold to make blocks, but I thought that it would take too long. Then I got an idea about making light weight concrete blocks and found this! It's awesome. I just have to rescale it for a flower bed. Great 👍 video
If you are putting in the glass fibers don't they make the galvanized wire redundant?
I will cure them underwater, that's a huge difference in strenght.
I love this DIY, but you need to tell the people that the end parts are Left and Right. One size doesn't fit all
Do you think there are any size limitations? For instance, could this work for 4'x8'?
Great vid!
good job
I watched your initial video several years ago. I loved it! I am not a gardener by any stretch of the imagination, but I was trying to figure out a good way to make a fire pit. I used your idea and built several panels and placed them in a 2'X2' square, then placed a metal 50 gallon barrel cut to height in the center and filled the space between the barrel and panels with sand. It has worked wonderfully for several years. I'm now interested in making the light weight and thinned panels to form up a couple of old window wells. Thanks for the excellent videos and fun!!
Wonder if this would be a good application for aircrete or hypertufa. Great design though!
