It took about two weeks to fix the rock garden at the driveway. I went through a few steps for landscaping rocks and it looks fantastic now. This is how I did:
(1) Dug out all white marble rocks
(2) To remove dirt, I made a rock tumbler out of metal cloth
(3) Added more pegs to fix edging
(4) Lifted the border with gravels
(5) Leveled the ground
(6) Installed landscape fabric as weed barrier
(7) Moved the white marble rocks back
(8) Scooped out mulch and dirt not to float out of bed
(9) Mulched the bed

What are tools did u used for rock lifting
The most important thing for DIY landscaping is that you use what you already have without purchasing anything new. Always question yourself – Do I really need it? Anything else to substitute? For this project, the only thing I bought was "landscape fabric."

This is so funny. As I started doing just about everything you were doing. However I have Rocks that go completely around my entire house. I started off building a wiremesh grate,
so that I could clean of the limestone rock that were covered with debris. I pretty much finished cleaning out all the stone in the front of the house, when I decided, the rocks that I spent so much time cleaning, were still too ugly to keep and it was taking WAY too much time.
So, the rest of the house I simply dug out all the old rocks and installed the barrier fabric and purchased new limestone, to serve as the base. I am now installing marble chips around the house. The only problem, is the marble chips are covered with a lot of dust, that I do not want to get into my rock bed. Do you have any suggestions on how to clean the marble chips off before placing them in your rock bed?
