everyone wants to mow and blow. everyone CAN mow and blow. what makes you different, and how will your clients see the difference?

Don’t cut corners or try to hide mistakes. We had a guy run over and chop up one of our valve box covers years ago and he didn’t mention it. Instead we found sharp pieces of plastic in the yard while I was playing with my son. I understand things happen but it was the fact he didn’t even mention it that bothered me. The guy also started using a zero turn mower on our property to work faster and the quality went downhill.
Just keep open communication with your customers and treat the property like it was your own. Good luck!

Drink a lot of water. Changing the string on those echo weed whackers can be annoying at first.

Make sure to always close the gates. Nothing loses a client faster than a pet that was let out or lost because you forget.

It looks like you have the basics for the “lawn mowing” part of the business, but what about the landscaping part? Gotta get a shovel, rake wheelbarrow etc..

Seriously though! Congrats on the new venture! I will you nothing but success!

Tech is worth the money. Tech for you and tech for running the business and tech for marketing.

Networking groups are also worth engaging in.

  8. Buy some safety glasses. The amount of times I’ve been hit in the face with debris is crazy. Also, take time for lunch and to hydrate. You are your most important tool.

If you can’t pick up the phone, return phone calls in a timely manner. You’ll be surprised how far simply answering the phone and calling people back will get you.

Do good work, dont be a shithead, and dont swindle old people, other than that, good luck!

I hope that’s not going in the trunk of a sedan with a bungee holding the lid down. lol. Good luck friend.

Become a master edger – nothing sets a lawn apart than a nice clean edge. It’ll set you apart
