I think its just scars, but I want to make sure.. why are those scars happening? I though maybe overwatering as the soil was soaked when I bought it back in June!
Can anyone confirm if they are harmless or not and what to do to avoid getting more on new leaves in the future?
(I did check roots and removed a few bad ones when repotting, but the stem looked good and firm! and I didnt water for a while after so i dont think i have to worry about it rotting. It also made 2 new leaves at the center since!)

Yeah, they’re likely genetic. Some plants split like that if they take in too much water.
