I’ve never had a fiddle leaf fig before, but this one seemed salvageable, so any tips to help it bounce back? If it looks like a lost cause, it was only $7 so not too pressed!

I’m new to plants. ($7 is a great deal) but I have a couple FFs. I just had a thrips infestation.

    1) check the plant for pests before bringing it inside your home.
    All good?

    2) plan to repot with an appropriate, oxygen giving soil mix.

    3) trim off all the brown bits, dead or dying leaves. Just a warning, the plant will drop leaves. FFs always do when they move to a new location. It’s like they go into shock.

    4) check for root rot when you pull it out of the original container. Brown leaves usually indicate there’s a root health problem. Cut off the roof rot

    5) repot in a pot that 2 inches (or slightly more) that has drainage holes.

I hope experts comment to help you. What a lovely plant!! Good luck!
