Hey Neighbor! Which vegetables are winners and which are losers here in South Georgia this season? Today we’re in the garden to talk about some wins and losses in this awful end-of-summer heat! We’re taking out some of our cowpeas that aren’t doing well and planting some Green Blaze bush beans. Make sure you have your drip irrigation going in this heat, you will be thankful that you have it – trust us! Let’s grow together and get dirty!

  3. I feel ya! The heat and humidity has got to me. I am working on as many inside projects as I can cause I know that first fresh breath of Fall is on its way. I had some wins and losses too but I am taking it all. Thanks for the inspiration and sharing!

  4. I only complain about the heat to other San Diegans when it’s in the 80’s but make sure no one else hears me. 🤫🤫

  5. Down here in east coast central FL and a big amen to the August talk. We won't feel that consistent cool air though until late Oct, early to mid Nov.

  6. Man yall got a new camera! Looking good yall. Very professional.
Do you mind me asking what kind of camera yall are using here?

  7. Been watching a long time Hoss, hear you speaking of enjoying the days is nice. But I'm gonna need you to mend that fence, build that bridge w.e yall need to do with Travis. Them where some great times and great memories. Let's see that lazy dog as a special guest at least 😅

  8. Thankful for Greg. We are taking some R&R and I'm terrified of what to find when we return. I have someone looking over the garden while we are gone, but I'm in no hopes of plants surviving. 😊 and that's OK.
    I'll start back next week.
    Stay cool.
I wonder if those African Drum Gourds would make good planters….🤔❤

  9. Hoss you are so right, I’m in Houston and it’s been brutal, I’m so ready fo fall, thanks for sharing.

  10. Makes nice Jacko lantern . You can use every year! Alice my friend from Mountain City Ga. She is the best! Makes her living selling and making gourds ! Bird houses, makes a beautiful witch for Halloween!

  11. Man it has been a hot summer here in SW Louisiana. But we do have a lot of growing time here in the south, so taking August off to do our Summer Hibernation is not a bad thing. Enjoyed the video.

  12. Living in North Georgia I still know what you’re talking about to appreciate that beautiful weather at the beginning of fall. Now I’m retired, but before I was working, but I enjoy the pandemic so I could telecommute and be in the garden more during that beautiful weather that I anticipate in about a month, hopefully.

  13. All of yhe seeds i ordered from you this year are my best so far. Just a fun fact…i heard about you guys from the Sievers farm couple. They love you too. Loved your face from the fermenting tasting videos. Did you everveat it again?

  14. I'm finally getting some Green Finger Okra from the seeds I ordered from Hoss and planted in my Greenstalk then proceeded to neglect. I'm not even sure I like okra LOL, but I heard that's one of the only things that will grow in July August here in Florida Zone 9a and they are loving it, despite the neglect.
