I’ve been planning to make this change to the NW corner of my garden for quite some time but hadn’t gotten around to it yet. Well, there’s no time like the present! In this video, I walk you through an edit that I made in my front yard garden and explain why I did it. You’ll see the before, the during, and the right after. Be sure to follow my channel if you’re curious about how this area of my garden will look later.

My garden is in a constant state of change—”garden” is definitely a verb around here. 😜 I grow a lot of plants in my garden. And I’m always adding new ones, editing and tweaking the ones that I have, and, in general, working to make my garden pleasing to look at, enjoyable to be in, and fun to watch grow and develop.
My garden is in Portland, Oregon. USDA Zone 8b.

Abelia Canyon Creek would work well with your colors, and Fothergilla Blue Shadow.
Wow that blue is striking!
I'm always moving plants. It's fun. Nice job on the color echoes.
It will be a nice change!
Nice result. Would of loved to see the progress.
Love the new plants❤️ Love all the colors of your plants. ❤️
Looks great (better)….what is the zone on that rodi? love it….hoping it is a zone 6?????
OK, I was freaking out about the Itoh removal UNTIL…..I saw its replacement🙂
There are so many plants that carry their weight, why keep a plant that doesn't meet your criteria?
I have too many peonies in general. I love them but they are fleeting! I'm also adding evergreens in my z5b Massachusetts cottage gardens.
My yard is small and I'm getting older so am looking for slightly less maintenance and more winter interest. Problem is I need small trees, bit not tiny trees. Max height 15-20 ft.
I added a glorious American fringe tree (15-20'h x 16'w) which recently bloomed and has somewhat large shiny leaves) and a "dwarf" Japanese umbrella pine (15'h x 7'w).
My next project is a 50' line of espaliered (post and guidewires) fruit trees including a self-pollinating Shinseki Asian pear. Wait…didn't I say less maintenance? Ha!!!
Love the new additions! 😊
What is that large, multi-trunked tree? Stewartia? Beautiful!
