Composting your kitchen waste is an easy way to cut down on the amount of garbage that your home produces, and is one way to start living more sustainably.
And the best part?
You end up with a fantastic soil amendment which provides everything your plants need to grow happy and healthy
Worm composting is using worms to recycle food scraps and other organic material into a valuable soil amendment called vermicompost, or worm compost. Worms eat food scraps, which become compost as they pass through the worm’s body. Compost exits the worm through its’ tail end. This compost can then be used to grow plants. To understand why vermicompost is good for plants, remember that the worms are eating nutrient-rich fruit and vegetable scraps, and turning them into nutrient-rich compost.
You should use red worms or red wigglers in the worm bin. The scientific name for the two commonly used red worms are Eisenia foetida and Lumbricus rubellus.

  1. Best Gardening channel ever👍🏻 one stop for all kinds of information, treatment and good of the plant…. Thanks for being there🙏

  2. Sir do u have any app of urs? Nd do u sell plants/bulbs/seeds? If so, pl share the buying procedure. Thank u.

  3. For me, I have my compost bins raided by raccoons, possums, and birds after the raccoons have unlocked intricate closures and helped themselves to treats and earthworm delicacies. The are so intelligent and have little hands more dexterous than my own.

  4. Icing the scraps isnt nessecary and you’re hurting them with that pitch fork thing. If you want you can layer some paper or soil on top but don’t mix it- the worms will do it

  5. The worm “blanket on top isn’t”necessary either s
I’d use that on the bottom layer so the worms don’t fall Thru into the water and then just use newspaper on top (plus they can eat it and need the carbon)

  6. That is nice but too small for $2,000.00 😮 I made my compost in a large B.P.A free container from Walmart drilled draining holes , got soil, got worms all there and added my scraps all in one day.😊

  7. Brilliant! A new viewer here – from BC, Canada. Very easy to subscribe, put notifications on, like and comment! Great system – I wish it was available here. Are you involved with the manufacturer – or do you know how to get in touch with them? (No contact info on the website.)
Thanks for producing this episode – the Earth – needs this!

  8. Nice video, but you did not get this compost in 10 days. Maybe 30, but even that is pretty quick.

  9. Does anybody know if the mash after home wine brewing can be thrown in? Mostly sultanas and wheat kernels….advice please

  10. Get yourself half pound nightcrawlers they will tear that tiny mass in days and sell to fisherman for bank

  11. Woowww.. amazing…
In my country, that water called "AIR LINDI", sir.. From composting..
And LINDI WATER so really good for my plants.
Thankyou for the video, sir 👍

  12. Wow, a miracle! My experience with composting is it takes minimum of a few months even with lots of worms. And thats if all conditions are perfect and have an abundant amount of worms and micro organisms.

  13. That is NOT compost tea coming out of the bottom. That is leachate. Do NOT use that on any plants you plan on eating. It is the liquid literally leaching from the rotten food. It can harbor dangerous pathogens.

Compost tea and worm tea are only made from finished compost or finished worm castings. It doesn't come from an active compost pile or an active worm bin.

  14. Never use inked paper……they all contain heavy metals…..Very Toxic for animals/human 👈

  15. Seems like good product too bad the website and ordering from India as a Swedish/European. I have to pay 20dollars to my bank just to purchase outside Europe and then there is huge shipping cost since its from India and add to that there is a 25% added tax buying from outside Europe :(((
You guys(vermiterra) should make a big shipment to a stashhouse in Europe and open up the gate to EU 😉

  16. Hello. This is a feedback of vermiterra composter sold by urban gardening. The vermiterra which I have received- out of four legs one was broken and I was assured for the replacement but nothing happened. Secondly this vermiterra has lots and lots of space between the buckets for other insects to move in. Within a week i c black soldier fly larvae and I am fed up of putting them out of my compost bin that is vermiterra. I called urban gardening guy so many times I even WhatsApp him so many times but there is no response from him which is very disappointing that is why I am leaving a feedback for others not to get cheated by urban gardening vermiterra. Poor after sales Service and very very poor promises.

  17. I maintain worms on my terrace garden in 2 old plastic pots of 16 inch each. Amazon k cardboards aur kitchen scraps se I get 7 kg vermicompost every month. Its free compared to this exorbitantly priced product.

Hope we get better worm bins in India at cheaper price, like the Hungry bin from New Zealand, which is hands down best design so far.
