You can always take it completely out of that liner and put it in a slightly deeper liner with fresh soil on the bottom to avoid messing with the rootball if you’re worried about shock

Yes while it doesn’t grows more

Yes, cut around the hole and free up the root And get a deeper and bigger pot. Refresh the potting mix too.

Check the entire root ball. Roots sticking out the bottom of the pot doesnt always mean u have to repot

Please don’t listen to the other comments. There’s nothing wrong with a few roots coming out of the bottom of a pot. Roots grow in all directions and it’s inevitable they’ll find their way out.

It is not a problem to have plants that are slightly root bound (but looking at your pictures I doubt it is.) it is only when the root binding becomes very severe or prolonged that the roots will start to suffocate.

If you’re really worried, pull the plant out of the pot and check how dense the root ball is. If you can see more roots than soil, then you can think about repotting, otherwise it will be fine.

Edit: I missed the part of your post saying the store repotted it for you already. In that case, you are definitely fine. There’s no need to helicopter parent your plants. They will make it known when they need care.

If you need to water it every couple of days, more soil will keep it moist

no, you shouldn’t. I’d say that the worst scenario would be cut this root. basically, it will continue to grow searching for water and nutri but it will stop when light encounter the top of this root. in resume, it’ll continue to grow but not too much and there is nothing wrong with it – a transplant will cause more stress than wasting a little more energy in the next days.

u/Peteforever257 hit the nail on the head. One root sticking out of the bottom does not indicate repotting, even a plant that has very closely crowded roots doesn’t necessarily need to be repotted. But if your plant cannot get enough water on a day-to-day basis that’s telling you it needs more soil around it to hold moisture.
