  3. Thank you so much for all the preparation you put into these videos. You are a wonderful teacher and I enjoy learning from you.

  4. When do you fertilize this? After the tender young plants come up? Thanks so much for this! Im getting ready to plant beets, carrots and bush green beans.

  5. Hi Gary. Last Monday I sowed seeds for kohlrabi, Pak Choi, Komatsuna, Yellow Heart Winter Choy, Golden Detroit Beets, and Brunswick Cabbage. I am still waiting on the Brunswick Cabbage and beets to sprout. Everything else is up, and thinned down. The Brunswick Cabbage is in an area that gets a lot of sun, so I may have to replant after it cools down, probably the end of the month, of Beginning of October. The heat wave has broken, but there is more 93F days in the forecast. This year, my biggest pest problem has been cutworms, and horned worms. I had a major infestation, that resulted in having to remove several of my tomato plants early. I have a Black Cherry that is still going strong, and a volunteer Super Sweet 100 that has just begun to flower. In a week, or two. depending on the temperature, I will be sowing Early Girl Bush and Tom Thumb tomato plants for winter tomatoes, and sowing seeds for more turnips, beets, and carrots.

  6. QUESTION Can I overwinter onions zone 7A? I seed started red onions and bunching onions in mid summer, they are at transplant size now but I don’t think I have enough of a season to grow these to maturity. The bunching onions I know I can use the greens but can I over winter the bulb onions?

  7. Thanks for the info as always! I live near White Marsh so I use your videos as my primary planting guide for my 1st year doing raised bed veg gardens. Also, I feel like I checked out your book before from the local library. Not 100% sure on that though.

  8. So truth: I was avoiding a fall garden because I just wasn't feeling it. But – now, I'm inspired. May not get to everything I originally wanted but definitely several. Thank you!

  9. I want to plant carrots and radishes plus cabbage, broccoli, lettuces and cauliflower. I am also 7A but our weather is still around 100 in the day and in the high 60’s at night as far into the future as the weatherman can see. Should I be planting them indoors.

  10. The heat is starting to break? Where I live in MD, the highs for the next week are in the 86-97F range. 🤷🏾‍♂️

  11. I've been starting my seeds outside to germinate fast. Then bring them inside with the a/c until it cools down outside. I prepared most of my containers to transplant them in. Working well far.
Can't get spinach to germinate to save my life. I'm going to try again.

  12. Thanks you make it easy and stress free. You are such a relax style grower and some of us really need that 😅

  13. First of all, most people in the northern states and Canada have harsher winters than that. Second, you don't need to spend so much time saying what you're going to do in the video. Just do it and who cares about some silly "intro." This isn't 5th grade English class.
