Kale and collard greens are pack with nutrition and very easy to seed start indoors. The plants get quite large so keep in mind you don’t need a lot of transplants. Besides saving money, seed starting your kales and collards lets you grow varieties you just won’t find as transplants in your local nurseries. The variety of kale I am growing is a crinkled black kale that is an heirloom variety.
