My lawn is split by a path 1/3rd 2/3rds, and the smaller section has these plants which I think are lobelia.

They’ve pretty much taken over the smaller section of lawn which looks great and they seem to do well ducking out of the way of the mower.

I really like them and have been trying to get them to spread over by cutting sections out and patching them in, but they don’t seem to be taking.

Any tips to encourage them to take? I think the bigger section of lawn is in more sun (south facing so its direct) so it might be a case of “right plant in the right place”.
