With spring on the way in the Southern hemisphere, I took these cuttings from a male Goat Willow I have access to. These are all potted in washed silica, with no root hormone (No point in using it for willows seeing as they root so easily) and were taken just as the buds were swelling. As you can see, the buds are extending now and I expect that within a month the roots will be filling the (very tightly fitted) pots. This species seems to be a bit more resistant to dieback than weeping willow so I’m looking forward to giving these a try once they get established.
