Hello! I’m new to carnivorous plants and have had these since late May. Recently, the pitchers have been rotting about halfway up, basically where they are full of bugs. I know they will eventually die off but is dying this way normal? Do I have a mold issue?

Also, they don’t quite stand straight and are growing thin and wavy. They don’t look as full as others plants I’ve seen but hoping that’s because this is the first year I’ve had them. Hopefully they’ll grow fuller each year.

I have them in full sun all day and water with tap water that’s about 32ppm. They are planted in a 50/50 mix of pearlite and peat.

Thanks!

Are they full of bugs at the points where they’re rotting?

It happens after a while. The traps wear out and the plant stops allocating support to them.

Normal. It’s a sign your plants are eating well.
