Started getting really into bonsai at the beginning of summer (tricky time to learn how to not kill trees lol). Had this sitting in its original pot for 3 months with nothing but a little clean up and removing the top soil and last night I finally dove into styling it. I removed quite a few branches but tried to keep as much foliage as I could on the branches I kept so it’s still a bit wild but hopefully will recover fine. I’ll try and get it tighter when I can mess with it again. Gladly take any critiques or advice, I know I have a lot to learn, but I was pretty excited to see what this little bush was able to give me!

Looks pretty good for your first. Seems like you understand the basic principles of styling. My only critique would be the dead wood branch crossing over to the left is covering the front portion of the trunk.
