I stopped at the nursery while visiting my hometown over the weekend. The owner was working, recognized my last name and asked if I was related to the ‘rest of them in town.’ I told him about my grandpop who recently passed. The owner’s face lit up and started telling me stories about him and my grandpop in high school and stories about my great grandfather who I never met.
Moral of the story: shop local and make time to (re)connect with family
