    It appears to me to be goldenrod, a native to North America. It is a good plant for pollinators in its native range as it blooms late in the season, providing food when it’s otherwise scarce. Fairly drought tolerant and adaptable to various soil conditions. I believe it spreads via rhizomes and seeds and is known to be an aggressive grower. Seems like in your neck of the woods, it was introduced as an ornamental towards the end of the eighteenth century, and it escaped into the wild around the 1930s. I have several varieties in my garden for the reasons I stated, but it may be considered an invasive in your area fwiw.
