Hello community. I bought this Barbados Cherry ( came all the way from India ), and I’ve been putting a lot of attention on it for the past 2 years. It was looking very healthy and growing very fast until this morning when suddenly the leaves, specially new ones started lost their vigour and got mushy and wilted.
Some context: I live in the UK. it rained a lot yesterday, and I left it outside overnight. It wasn’t cold enough to damage the plant ( 11c , 52f )
In my opinion it’s overwatering, combination of lots of water and not enough heat to dry excess water.
My idea is repot it again ( I repotted it not long ago ) with some sand mixed to the soil. ( 50% )

It’s a tropical plant ( MALPIGHIA GLABRA BARBADOS CHERRY ), and this is what I found online about its soil specs :

Light requirement: plant grows in part shade/part sun
Soil tolerances: slightly alkaline; clay; sand; acidic; loam
Drought tolerance: high
Soil salt tolerances: unknown

Thank you so much in advance for any advise

Yeah it looks like over watering! I’d suggest if you’re going to repot it anyway mix a good amount of the sand and some perlite into it to make it more free draining so that if our lovely British summer continues as it has…. They won’t drown!

I find my plants in pots wilt because theyve not got enough food to last them πŸ™ so repot, bring indoors and maybe invest in some food for it and have the pot be able to drain excess water through draining holes πŸ™‚
