Well I am not surprised. But after 2 years the squirrels have found my bird feeder and has eaten it’s way through it to get at the goodies (discovered this after filling it up as in the picture the other day).
I know it is that time of year and they are preparing for the winter. I just thought I ask to see if you wonderful people have found a decent product that made it difficult for them to access the food or another deterrent?
Sadly, in case anyone is wondering, it is grey. If it was a red, I would be asking different questions.

Get an anti squirrel bird feeder. They have a big cage around them and are made from metal. Currently some in the aldi middle isle or most garden centres or a Wilko if you’re lucky.
Search ‘squirrel baffle’ … these plastic domes may help.
Yeah the metal ones are good, I had to wire mine to the support or the squirrels would unhook it so it dropped on the floor!
A 177 air rifle normally does the trick!
I have a feeder that’s branded ‘Squirrel Buster’. The inner feeder is separate from a spring loaded metal outer which has the perches for the birds so it can be adjusted for weight. A squirrel or large bird lands on it & pulls the outer cover over the feed openings. https://www.squirrelbuster.co.uk
Its not cheap & not foolproof for bigger birds (pigeons etc learned to shove their head in as they land to wedge it open … or do humming bird impressions) … no squirrel damage though (and we do have 1 or 2 that drop by)
Roamwild feeders are pricey, but ours keeps the squirrels off. https://roamwildproducts.co.uk/products/roamwild-squirrel-proof-bird-feeders
