I’d always followed general asparagus fern advice for its care, since 4 years ago when I got it, I couldn’t find as many ming fern-specific images and resources on the internet.
Cut to today, I finally decided to look up ming ferns again, because I wanted to know how to make it grow taller. In the pictures of larger, taller ming ferns…. people are using stakes.
Stakes… I could have been using stakes. All this time, I could have used stakes. I feel so silly. I don’t know why I didn’t think of stakes. I just saw new growth flopping over and went “Well, what can ya do!” 🤦♀️
Live and learn. Would love to hear if any of y’all have stories where you missed a big obvious solution to your plant care. 😅

I love the big poofy plant
It’s so cool! It looks like a cloud!
I legitimately googled this “ming fern” because it looks like it grows so similarly to the asparagus fern! As for my asparagus fern, I just let it do it’s thing. If a frond is starting to age and dry out, I chop it and let nature take it’s course. I’ve had to learn how to chop those extra long arms they can grow too. As much as I’d love for every branch to flourish… it’d take up my entire table if I’d let it.
So beautiful and cool. I want one now
