I planted the darlingtonia in a large terracotta pot (22cm diameter) and put everything into an enormous white overpot to increase the sunlight reflection. The white colour has an high albedo, also there is enought space between the two pots for an cooling effect due to evaporation throught the terracotta. As substrate I mixed peat moss and perlite as a 50:50 ratio and added a hughe ammount of fine silica sand. I wanted to create a high mineralic substrate because in nature the plants do often grow at high mineralic places. I do also hope that the substrate provides a good airing.

As topping I have chosen completely red spaghnum. I like its colour and it should provide a good contrast to the green pitchers. Also it has a cooling effect aswell.
