I got her around a year ago. She was gorgeous and grew new leaves like crazy. She had a rough winter though, due to renovations she had to fight for light with all my plants on a table next to a window.
When the spring came I pruned and repotted her, I know it doesn’t look like it but her roots actually fit the pot unless they died. She stayed inside until the temperature outside became tolerable for her and now she’s been sitting outside for a few months now.
I experimented with darker and brighter spots, neither satisfied her demands. She’s either growing tiny leaves, poorly fenestrated ones etc. now her leaves are larger than usual but they become damaged before they unfurl and any older leaf just goes ahead and commits suicide for shits and giggles.
I used a pesticide on her, it didn’t do anything.
I also have a pothos and a heart leaf philodendron with the same tragic backstory but this monstera is in the worst condition . What do they want from me??

These monstera adesonis are such dramatic plants. Usually mine will shed a leaf by letting it yellow and die while it unfurls a new one.
I’ve found bright indirect light is good for them and they love humidity. That’s really all I got though haha, good luck
Use a magnifying glass to closely inspect the foliage for pests. Necrosis on new growth has two potential causes: Pests or being kept too moist, whether due to watering frequency or insufficient light exposure. Since other damage is visible, I suspect a pest. If it’s thrips, you’ll want both a systemic like Bonide granules and a spray such as Captain Jack’s Dead Bug Brew. Best of luck.

I started using a weak led grow light on mine and she loves it, started putting new leaves out like crazy.
Don’t feel too bad mine has had mealys, spider mites and now thrips. She’s still kickin 🤣
In Jan I got my first Adansonii for free because it was just vines (like 4 ft long vines) and maybe 5-8 leaves that mostly died in transit. She was sad for a very long time, and back in April I put her outside, where she finally put out a few new very tiny leaves or leaves that were white/translucent in some areas.
I chopped off all the long vines back to some of the earliest nodes and kept very few of the new leaves, repotting her, and honestly, she still struggled a bit. Then I started adding a drop of Super Thrive every few waterings. The fertilizer was actually the trick, and now she is in a large pot with many leaves, and I only recently removed the last two leaves that she came to me with (they had yellow at the edges ever since I got her, but she needed something to help photosynthesize after the big chop and I have several nodes that I have propagated both in water and dirt, but most perished due to no leaves).
They can be finicky, but I’ve found most of it is due to lack of fertilizer.
