This is a branch of twisted hazel I took as a cutting last winter. Selected for the significant “knot” in the trunk it’s starting to show good new growth.
Due to the even size of the trunk I’ll probably work towards a literati style. the next couple of years I’ll look to develop the height and eventually the nebari.
I might keep the upside down growth coming from the knot depending on how it develops.
