My hoya macrophylla has a dozen of these long (1.25”) peduncle spurs. They’re all healthy, but rarely produce buds that bloom.

I’m downsizing the collection—should I sell this for extra because of the wild spurs? Or do I covet the beauty?

Thanks!

Up to you. Looks like it could use more consistent watering if the buds keep blasting. I’d drench it with orchid bloom food, including the leaves.

The leaves look a little dehydrated in the picture. I’d say better watering will fix the blasting buds, assuming the roots haven’t dry rotted.

Kind of like tree rings, after each successive blooming cycle the peduncle gets longer, meaning you can tell the age of a peduncle by its length. But that many peduncles would take a lot of energy to each bloom, so if you wanted you could cut some off to leave maybe 2 at each node?

Wow this is so cool! I’ve never seen this before!! I agree with everyone else. The leaves look a little limp, I would also recommend watering it more
