First “healthy” picture is my brothers Juniper. He kept it indoors for about 6 weeks after he first purchased and was near a well lit window. I mentioned how junipers typically need to be outdoor to thrive. He put it outside and watered it well but now it is crisp and almost dead. Did I kill it? Or was it already dying. Time between the photo’s is 9 days. (North Carolina)

It is dead, but you were 100% correct. It needs to be outside,.
Super dead
As most are saying it is likely past the point of no return. Don’t completely give up hope though. Junipers can be pretty tough and I’ve seen trees come back from the brink after thinking for sure they were goners. They want to live. Hopefully your little buddy is thinking “I DIDN’T HEAR NO BELL”
Weird. Mine looks worse than yours and it’s still growing. Folks here told me it was just shedding. Maybe get some second opinions on the pinned discussion thread?
It needs to be outside. It is an outside species and it’s too difficult to keep alive inside. I also recommend misting the branches and trunk three times a day to keep it moist and healthy. Look for a spot outside where it will get a good five hours of direct sunlight, and partial to low sun for the rest of the evening. If not, moving it around is recommended for the best care and bloom of a juniper.

OK, for everyone that’s saying “dead”, could you please educate me as to how you arrive to that conclusion from the photo?
I’d still leave it for longer. July and August is the worst time for them. I did two a few months back and I’m thinking the same but looked at some YouTube videos and the message was that they are replacing needles at this time of the year and won’t look their best.
