My backyard is basically all crabgrass in the summertime. I mow it down to 2”. The dogs approve and that’s all I care about for the backyard. Front yard is a different story entirely.

If I was your neighbor I would be not be happy with this life decision of yours. Also you’re not a farmer so there literally is no benefit to maintaining a annual grassy weed. DISGUSTING

I keep my crabs at 4 inches. Really helps with crowding out my tall fescue! If you can’t beat em, join em 😁

My backyard is mostly crabgrass and Bermuda. Half my yard is a 15,000 gallon koi pond so I’m scared of using any chemicals around it. Made that mistake once (when I had a smaller pond) and killed everything but one goldfish, later he grew tumors all over his body. I called him the toxic avenger.
So I pretty much just let whatever wants to grow alone in the backyard as long as it’s green.
