Just posting my full blooming on this gal but I was curious since she’s been getting more spotted lately which I’m wondering might be cause for concern.
To preface, I know these guys are notorious at spotting (same with oncidiums) and know its impossible to be certain its a symptom without testing for anything, but was still curious if I should do so.
This plant lives in a SE facing windowsill and exposed to very bright indirect light for a good portion of the day; lives in about 45-50% humidity, fairly dry. I omly water when she’s bone dry and her psuedobulbs start to shrivel a bit; I don’t think any my of plants get great air circulation.
She’s always been spotty, however recently they’ve increased on her leaves and start appearing on more established newer growth. Everything new coming in hasn’t spotted whatsoever, but when it grows out and hardens off that’s when she spots up again.
Other than her spotting she’s pretty healthy, no other issues with her leaves and roots, no dying growth, etc.
She gets watered with tap water and I very weakly fertilize her whenever I remember, however have increased frequency due to her blooms.
Was wondering if this was normal or if i should be watching out for signs of any other signs of bacterial/fungal infection, or possibly seeing something viral. Thanks for any advice!

Ooh! I have one of these and I’ve always wondered what it’ll look like when it blooms someday. Beautiful!
I know you’re posting a concern, but if you have any tips, I’d love to hear them

Spotting for oncs and especially brassia & former odont types (& their hybrids) is normal. If you suddenly see it spreading & taking over then it requires action as it’s probably fungal rather than just spotting.
