Think you should hold a “dahlia dig”. Bring your own shovel and bucket and get free labor to clean out the whole site😊
Wait why are you getting rid of the shark fish from New pond
I bought Nature's Willow of my daughter's tendinitis and she loves it. So did her coworker, so I bought some for her as well. Wonderful stuff.
Also bought a Hoselink and we finally have it installed, including the slightly larger post as you suggested. My daughter loves it! She does all the landscaping upkeep, so anything I can do to make it easier for her makes me happy.
You can mow around bees.
The wheat video was so interesting. Thank you for sharing. Would love to see you make french fries with your potatoes. (and ketchup with your tomatoes 🙂 ) Thanks for all you share.
Maybe Paul and Betthany will someday have their own channel on YT and other video platforms? They are learning from the best!
Treat it as an annual🤣 talking about the pop up can. Made me laugh out loud
I've milled my own wheat for 25+ years and the flour keeps in the fridge for a very long time! It will lose some of its nutritional value but I've never had flour that went rancid.
Aaron you are a good husband and dad!
Yum..little potatoes we cook & make a white sauce & eat over cornbread! YUM. Thanks for sharing! XO
Recently planted one that stays small : Dwarf Alberta Spruce
Love Aaron’s Tolkien reference!
I finally got caught up on all of this week's videos. I had to so I could watch the recap. 😂. My Mom planted extra cucumbers this year, because they died last year….we had so many she made gallons of 4 different kinds of pickles. She made pickles for my sister and a neighbor that had hip surgery. She then started giving the cucumbers away to family and friends that wanted to can pickles. I've never seen her so happy that vines started to die back. We don't eat a lot of them raw, but boy does our family eat pickles!
Wow! Love bulbs!
Would love to see an update on your friend’s landscaping you did last year (large one story stucco looking house with huge yard). Love the channel ❤🇨🇦 watching from Hamilton, Ontario
In some countries, flour and other dry ingredients are measured by weighing, not using cups or spoons. I wonder how that would work with your flour. I spent a summer in Norway when I was in high school. I used a clean yogurt cup in an attempt to copy my host mother's wonderful bread recipe, so I could do "our" style measurement. It didn't work very well, so I eventually bought a scale.
❤ I look forward to you all every day!
💚 💜 It's been in the 60s chilly at night but today is 90°. I'm ready for Fall!! I been putting up Halloween decorations lol. Happy Sunday Laura and Aaron❤
I have bee boxes from a bee keeper in town. They are perfect in the garden and I work around the bow early in the morning and never have a problem. I just make sure to do bee adjacent work first off before they wake up (or after the go to sleep at sunset.)
The plant behind you looks like its hanging out of your glass, like a plant lover's alternative to an umbrella in their glass lol!! Might be a good marketing idea 😉
Better be canning people
The bug bite cream is awesome on skeeter bites! I love that the little tube fits easily in the pocket so it’s easy to access while gardening.
We used to have animals, used the manure in the garden, and canned or froze produce and saved money but was a lot of work here in southern Indiana.
Scammer got me too same thing Said i was lucky winner hahahahahahahahahahah I deleted it said to telegram you lol
Ch you every morning with a cuppa in Queensland. Love all your videos. Just think unfair sometimes we in other places. AUSTRALIA We miss out on give away. Just saying. You guys have such great stuff.
Great video. Thank you so much.
I love Nature's Willow products so much! I have been using them since the first time you talked about them. I shared some of my products with my boss at the flower shop where I work, and she loved them too! She got in contact with the company, and we now sell an assortment of Nature's Willow products in the shop. We received our first order just in time for Mothers Day. We made up gift baskets, and we can not keep the products in stock! Thank you for your brilliant recommendation!
Just a friendly warning against using honey bees! They will crowd out the native bees. Honey bees are not native — they are all from Europe. The “Save the Bees” movement has actually harmed native bee populations because people think it means honeybees. Native bees are solitary! Please, please don’t use honeybees on your property. ❤
I never wash my produce or eggs.Planning to go wheat this you get me into. Love watching you.
You could do you videos from the Hartley!
I want to see the small combine you need to harvest your wheat, glad Aaron didn't overfill the pond!
My grandparents on my mother's side in Eastern TN had a farm many years ago and the spent all their time growing, harvesting, canning. My mom would even have time off school to help. Then they sold the farm, moved to suburbs and got sick. My dad's parents both (divorced) had small gardens until they could no longer manage (also Eastern TN (Mountains). They lived on meager incomes(retirement/ss) and the garden helped emotionally, physically, and financially.
You can always freeze the things you make with the flour…and you'll be ahead for the holidays. Maybe you could freeze some of the flour in gallon freezer bag's you could stack them on top of each other and save a lot of room in the freezer.
Hey Laura, I use to bake bread a lot and you can always freeze all the grain you milled up. Don’t go throwing it all out after a couple of days like “ experts “ suggest. It will last longer than that. I’ m glad you learned about sifting your flour. The great thing about doing it yourself, is that you can hold back as much or as little as you want to achieve your goals. You can also try to sift 100% and make it white flour and then add back the bran at a certain percent to make it healthy and to give it texture. There are good books out there on this subject. Don’t forget you can make cakes, pastries, and other baked goods, as well as mixing the soft wheat with all purpose flour for example, to make a softer pizza dough. Welcome to the art of bread baking!
Consider trying some cantaloupe quick bread when you have a ripe melons to use
Edited for spelling error: You could support local business by working with your local bee keepers instead of trying to take on another project of beekeeping. As for flow hives I'm not a "born hater" but I believe in trusting the experts so I'd ask Beekeepers who been keeping bees for years what their knowledge based opinion is before invested time and money in new fad.
Okay, have to comment. Weigh your flour. Weigh all ingredients that need weighing. Once you get in the habit of weighing, it’s tough not to do it. It just becomes a no-brainer, stuff turns out great, takes all the guess work out and it’s faster than measuring cup by cup.
I'm going to give Natures Willow a try. My garden is organic but so am I ! And the mosquitoes love me!
Great recap. Loved everything. Yes Thank Goodness for Paul and Bethany their the best and take pride in their work. Hard to find now a days. You do you Laura and other people can do them. I personally loved your fancy little knife. Thank you so very much for sharing this with us. Appreciated.💯💯💯🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Oh, get an outdoor pizza oven!!! Then keep your flour in the freezer. And great pizza dough is made from low-protein flour!
can Aaron share link on the mini-combine?
My husband and I love to sit down at lunchtime on Sunday's to watch the week's highlights. Thank you so much for the garden ideas! It's also fun to watch how a nice couple interact with each other! 🙂
I live in zone 9B in deep south Texas. I put my bulbs in the refrigerator and planted them right after Christmas. Around December 28th. They came up in two to three weeks, especially since our winter is mild. You could probably succession plant them every two weeks depending on the weather. Unfortunately, we got a winter freeze February 2022, and it killed the foliage, therefore, I couldn't use the bulbs the next year. I will probably try again this year and see if the budget allows for succession planting.
Wonderful recap. I love how real you both are. Thank you for all the videos and hard work you put into them to make the quality we all enjoy. Have a blessed day.
To hear you say a video light was junk makes me alarmed. I depend on seeing your videos no matter what. And I didn’t even notice the light! It’s you and Aaron that are important. Your location and projects always look so great! Thanks for helping the rest of us by posting them.
Lol!! When Aaron says "you overwintered thrips remember! And your expression Laura! Priceless! You guys are great!
