I went through a rough SAD period this past Winter (NA). Overwhelmed by the number of plants I had, I neglected all of them including my haws. This “Love Heart” and all my other succulents went without water since November. On May 28th of this year, I decided to place it outside and hope for the best. Roughly 3 months later and it’s bursting with life again 🙂

just,,, WOW! I audibly gasped when I saw those images. Amazing work!
You have my deepest sympathies. SAD is a real bitch, I’ve struggled with it for 20 years. I happen to live in a part of Ohio known for having the highest number of cloudy days in winter in the US. Even more than Seattle. I could have written your post myself after the winter of 2020-2021. Truly. Identical experience. Lost more than 1/2 my little succulent nation. Many of the survivors were my haws. Amazing little plants, tough as nails. Only thing tougher were my lithops.
I’m very happy yours came through the unplanned drought so well. I’ve had real success in beating back SAD since getting my first SAD light box in the fall of 2021. Using it daily from mid-September through March has made an incredible difference the last two winters. I wish I’d found out about it years ago. I strongly recommend it.
Hang in there.
