  2. I really appreciated the instructions in hand pollinating. I have attempted to hand pollinate squash so it is reassuring to see the process. Fingers crossed the hand pollinating works for my squash!

  3. I would love to win this fall garden kit. It may be moms last fall. Her cancer has metastasized to stage 4 and underlying health issues make chemo not an option.

  4. I’m so glad you did this video. I was wrongly assuming that if there was a tiny watermelon that the flower had been pollinated! You’re the best!

  5. Great info! I'm learning so much from your videos! I've binge watched at least 95% of them. Keep up the good work! Happy gardening!

  6. Now I am wishing I had planted a sugar baby watermelon. I did not realize you could trellis it with a cage like that. Next year for sure!

  7. Our watermelon didn’t do well this year despite the good rain we’ve had. I hop next year will be better, now knowing this I believe it will be successful! ❤❤❤ thank you for sharing!!!!

  8. Sugar babies! and grocery subscription! or kneeling pad. Good luck to all.

  9. You make it look sooo easy!! 😊 I may just try to grow watermelons.
Love all your Videos. They are so informative. This is all new to me. Jumping in with something new!! Wish me luck😅 Hi Camera Man….from Reno

  10. Very informative video! Thanks! Are there other plants that can be hand pollinated this easily?

  11. That was a very informative video and also looked fun to do. I wonder what other plants you can help with this technique..

  12. Still hanging on to my watermelon plant. It has grown some vines and a few really big leaves, but seems to be growing really slowly. Just gonna let it continue to grow for the rest of the summer season to see how it does. I keep seeing these small yellow-tipped "leaflets" coming from between the vines. All the watermelon videos I've watched never have I seen them so idk what the are?

  13. I've been hand pollinating my squash but didn't think to use this method with watermelon! Will be trying this out for sure to get more baby watermelon growing! Thank you for all the helpful tips, your videos have been so helpful as a new gardener! 🌻

  14. You and I your videos are the inspiration behind me wanting to grow sugarbabies and to encourage others I know to do the same. I love content about attainable gardens! Much love and respect from Dallas, Texas again. (My Califormia hubby living in Texas now appreciates my lessons learned also., I think 🤔 😅😂).

  15. I experimented with sugar baby watermelons this year on my 5X9-foot balcony and got several tiny watermelons on it but only one has grown (and not as large as I've seen and has stopped growing now). about a week ago I noticed some yellowing veins on the leaves of the plants (I have 2 in a 15 gallon or so plastic self-watering pot). and now almost all of the leaves have the yellowing veins, even though there are still some growth shoots happening. I've been worried for a bit now that the pot is not draining out quickly enough since it seems like I hardly ever need to water and I actually saw a mushroom growing in the pot 😱. I've read that it might be a nutrient deficiency, even though I have fertilized a couple of times, but again – afraid to water any more since the soil still seems pretty damp. Anyway, now that I know that I can grow watermelon on my balcony I will definitely try again next year, so I would love to be entered in to win the giveaway and also get some good feedback on my watermelon experiment and what I should do for next year! Zone 5a.

  16. I really learn from all the information that you and your husband share. Thank you so much! You all are such pleasant people. ❤

  17. I'm looking forward to buying my first Smart Pot. I have my eye on the little shorty raised bed 🙂

  18. My poor sugar baby watermelon plants look really sad in our Dallas 100+ temps. I actually just had one of my watermelons split in the heat!

  19. Thank you for the tip on pollinating the watermelon! I didn't have much luck last year. Now I have some hope!😊 Thank you!

  20. @Cali Kim, you inspired me to plant Sugar Baby Watermelon 🍉 Cut worms got my 4 sprouts in July. I started again and I have 1 direct seed sowed sprout. I'm using sluggo & DE so nothing can stop it 😂

  21. Great to know that hand pollinating works when there may not be enough bees in my yard. Thank you for this video!

  22. Ok Kim! Your garden is gorgeous! Here in Midwest everything dying from drought. The horrific storm last week killed my only flourishing plants my climbing cukes. Thanks so much for reaching us snout watermelons. They are sooo yummy!

  23. Ive got so many bees in my garden, but it seems they arent doing the best job pollinating for me. I tried letting them do it themselves for my pumpkins, but even though there are bees in every flower, tons of females werent getting pollinated. So, I hand pollinate everything now.

  24. Love your videos. Great information on hand pollination on watermelons. I didn’t have much luck with my watermelon this year. Is it too late to start move seeds? I m in zone 9B.
