  1. Thank you so much for hanging out with me today! So happy you are here! I so enjoy sharing my little garden with you all! Any advice is always appreciated!❤

  2. Anna you have put a lot of work in your garden and it looks beautiful love all the different colors thankyou so much for sharing I have injoy your videos 😊❤

  3. Hi Anna. Loved the garden tour. So many pretty plants. It's going to be interesting this winter how they all fair. I think that is great idea getting cuttings off your plants for next season. Saves $$$ on new ones. Have a great week both you and Ernie

  4. I have about seven or eight huge hydrangeas plants on the west side of my house, and they get sun, but they also get shade from the house next to me. I was doing some research for you, hydrangeas can get stressed when it gets real hot and too much sun. Could that be what’s going on?

  5. Anna – When you were doing your garden update the color contrast did catch my eye. We have many things for when you can plant anytime. The good choice was burgundy for the winter… Cheers!

  6. Thanks for the tour Anna! So enjoy the updates. Same thing happened to me with my hydrangeas at my country home. I had to move them because I had planted them in a place that they were getting too much afternoon sun. I planted them up against the house so they would get lots of morning sun but shade in the afternoon and they have been doing great evere since.

  7. I just love seeing the updates on your garden Anna and they are looking awesome. The mulch made everything show up even more and it looks like your coleus made it. Looking forward to seeing your new curtains. 😊❤😊🌸🌼

  8. Everything looks beautiful. It’s exciting, starting a new garden, watching everything grow in and the placement. I have had my perennial gardens for almost 20 years🪻🌺 things die off and then you add new things.. I just got rid of a huge hosta that was at least 24 x 24. It was just over growing my front perennial garden. My hardiness zone is 6a. I had to cut it down then take all the roots out, took me almost an hour yesterday but I did it🎉 where there’s a will there’s a way. And that’s what it was doing, taking over my garden, so it had to go. I have many shoots from that one plant. I try to incorporate new plants either every year or every other year in my gardens. Thank you again, all the hard work that you and Ernie are doing is paying off❤ stay safe, have a blessed day❤

  9. We have the cooler temperatures now, I'm loving this week! To me, it looks like you have a fungus on your hydrangeas on the leaves. I would try a fungicide only because I kept thinking it was fertilizing for my dahlias and my peonies, and it ends up being a fungus. I think because of all the rain we had and how humid it was. I did Google to look at some pictures and it looks like it could be what I saw on your leaves. It looks like some leaf spots can be just left alone but some should be treated with a copper fungicide so you should definitely Google spots on hydrangeas and compare your leaves with what you see online. The good thing is they say they are unsightly, but usually don't kill the plant.

  10. I made a fertilizer mistake with two of my favorite hosta and the leaves are turning brown, so sad. The winter sewing method does work well. I invested in grow lights and set up a shelf in my basement which enabled me to overwinter plants and start seeds. Please share your propagation process with the hydrangea.

  11. Anna, your garden is beautiful ❤. You and Ernie have done such a beautiful job. You can tell this is your passion and you do it well.

  12. Hi Anna. Your hydrangeas blooms are probably getting too much sun and are drying the blooms. The plant is OK and you can cut the blooms and put in a vase without water ti dry and use them for fall arrangements . I live in chula Vista, CA

  13. Not sure when you planted them. They ideally like to be planted in cooler weather (fall is the time to do it). If you planted them in the hot season then they are stressed. They will bounce back next year. The fertilizer should only be added in spring and fall. Use only Holly Tone. For the remainder of the time I would leave them alone. Just cut them back in fall. They don't turn pink until later in the season. Usually around Sept/Oct. When the temperatures are cooler. All my paniculata hydrangeas are huge and healthy just from following these tricks. Hope that helps.

  14. Your garden looks amazing. The Only thing I would suggest is burying your light cables as the elements will damage them over time.

  15. I believe you’ve got sun scorch on your hydrangeas. Hydrangeas generally can’t take full on direct afternoon sun, at least mine can’t. (IN zone 6). I hope this helps. Love your backyard oasis. We are in the process of doing the same.
My husband doesn’t want a fence, so we are creating a living wall. It’s really teaching me patience lol. We are going for ‘the illusion of seclusion’. Happy gardening!!

  16. For a new zone gardener you are doing very well. It takes time to learn your zone plants, your soil acidity, and positioning in your garden. Such as placement in full shade, part sun, full sun…its all trial and error. If you love full coleus instead of cutting the stem, pinch the stem so they grow fuller. They like to stay hydrated so just a simple drench of water they should bounce back. Like you mentioned they are pretty hardy. Don't be afraid to shear back those Supertunias Vista bubblegum, because they will comeback fuller in a few weeks. Yes fertilizer once or twice a week with Proven Winners water soluble fertilizer too. You'll notice a big difference on all your flowering plants. Keep up the great work! Its all about your happy place.

  17. What a beautiful garden tour, I just love your videos! On your hydrangeas, check which 'type' they are. If they are panicle, they can handle the sun but don't prune until spring in zone 7. The first and second years, hydrangeas can be fussy but year 3 they leap!

  18. Everything in the flower beds look great!! Love your plans for next Spring! You are doing a great job!!!😊

  19. When you buy seed for your new bird feeder make sure you get no grow bird seed ❤ you won't have all the weeds growing under the feeder 😊 Also your hydrangeas need to be dead headed. When the blooms turn brown it's time to remove them ❤ Your gardens are looking really good! It's so nice to see all the exciting progress!

  20. I have a large Japanese maple in my front yard. There is a cement boarder around it and filled with bark. Need something to plant around it. Any suggestions? Petunias? Need to get more water around the maple..looking dry. Thanks for your help. Love your garden! Great job creating a beautiful space. God bless ❤️ 🙏 🙌

  21. I'm no expert, but I've heard the damaged leaves need to be cut off so the plant can put all its energy into the new growth.

  22. Many people over fertilize. If its very hot and they are not getting enough water you can harm the roots. Roots can get burned from fertilizer. Realistically trees and shrubs in the ground don't need all that much. A bit to start a new plant off is about it. Fertilizer should be saved mainly for pots or if plants need a boost. I also didn't understand cutting back daylily for the new growth? They don't send up flowers a second time. If you remove all the greenery you're removing the source of energy they need for next years blooms to increase. Vicki

  23. Anna, I am so excited to see your upcoming videos about propagating. As with everything you do I know it will be successful. I truly enjoy your videos and learn so much. Thank you.

  24. You arborvitaes look healthy as well. I did a privacy screen with arborvitaes around my property two years ago. Just keep them watered, as you have been doing. I put a drip system on mine because I am lazy, lol Your garden is amazing and coming along beautifully! #kudos

  25. How beautiful your plants are and I am excited hear and see more about propagating, very interesting, yes, the zone you are in is different and the adjustment period takes some time but you seem to have a handle on it! So glad things are taking root so well, great job!
