  1. Ohh one of these cottages (or one of your future cottages 😉) is definitely on my travel list!! I’ve only been to England once on a layover in Heathrow ha on my way to Sweden!

  2. Beautiful idea, the 2 cottages, Charlie you are such a great organizer ! The stairs in white would be nice i think, in my opinion.
Congratulations to both of you for all the efforts you put for a nice a cosy welcoming to your guests, ♥

  3. I have just lost my darling Mummy, she loved watching you Charlie and the boys. I take comfort in your vlogs ….thank you xx

  4. I am not a great fan of bottom shots – maybe a sideways view would be better to start. I always fast forward when the make up stuff comes on and go straight to the next segment so Charlie's breakfast was welcome. I have to agree about advertising and it is very sexist. Dickens always looks so relaxed and innocent. Rosemary plant looks like it is doing well in the kitchen. Don't you have to watch out for moths with open jumper rails? I did look up Strawtop Cottage and found it very expensive. Prince William is reducing cottages in the Duchy I see and I understand attracting a certain clientele but it is also good to make cottages affordable for others.

  5. Just cant watch you anymore.
Youve lost touch with the rest of us in the real world and what we can afford…..

  6. Gosh how did you manage to get the cottage next door? I was worried about the stair post above Charlie's head. If you have taller people they will bang their head on it. It is so good to see an English product such as the lovely little pink Aga – how delightful. I assume as it is smaller it will be more reasonable?

  7. Oh my goodness!! All of the thoughtful and lovely amenities you and Charlie include in your Airbnb is SO SPECIAL! I have never stayed in an Airbnb that makes it such a special, luxurious experience from the unique yummy food items & drinks to the Dyson hair dryer & sleep spray etc. What a dream!! ♥️

  8. I agree with Charlie about stuff getting ripped out of houses and everyone trying to "modernise" – I call it "butchering the character out" and why? 70's were a dreadful time for design if you can call it that. I am trying to remember when Listed Building regs came in and they saved a lot. I think it was the 40's but that saved a lot of butchering but a lot has taken place and plastic windows are awful and never ever in a million years would I have a plastic window – they are the scourge of England and we need to go back to wood. I have georgian sash and have had them lovingly repaired and painted to preserve them and hate to see lovely old windows on houses rotting. There should be a law as you can do it yourself and not hard to put a coat of paint on surely? The same with old doors and original floors which luckily I have in upper floors but I have a concrete base on the ground and not sure why as the beams are so old and I don't have the deeds. I ripped up all the carpets and went back to wood but the kitchen is floor stone tiles and the rest is part old tile and part concrete so I have painted it all a dark brick red and it works! Big gamble but with sisal rugs it is perfect with a dog

  9. Now I see how the kitchen was and mine was built in when I came and it is cream and not as offensive as fake wood but I kept it for costs reasons and have added galvanised iron accessories, wooden sage painted plate rack and the fridge freezer is not built in and it works as it overlooks the garden and I love it and easy to work in.

  10. Curvature to the walls is a great touch and my decorator did that for me in the odd place as I love quirky character and original features were uneven and wonderful. So important to keep the character going and get it back. Next door had sliding windows lovely old ones and they let them rot and have new small paned ones but it broke my heart – they are at the back so they got away with it but why???

  11. I love the warm yellow and although I have stuck to a neutral magnolia shade my kitchen would be dark if I didn't. I love Charlie's comment "it was like someone threw up everywhere" pebble lino was in my second house and why??? That house was restored – a 30's house by my ex husband and I and the next couple completely wrecked it's character. We lovingly restored the old windows and door and they put an ugly boxy porch on front with huge numbers and we had a lovely glass window above the door. Heartbreaking. It could be a modern build not a 30's home. Yes the plastic windows were added.

  12. I am so glad the two of you got hold of the new/old cottage as it needed taking back to age. You are doing it perfectly and it is easy to buy the wrong bit of furniture but I am sure you can use it somewhere as you are not short of houses. You can always sell it. That is the beauty of old furniture it stands the test of time and will always be wanted. My mother loved her gateleg table (her prize possession) but unfortunately my greedy sister locked me out of her house when my mother died and sold all her furniture/possessions without me. Consequently due to that and more and even more serious issues surrounding my mother's health I no longer talk to my sister. I abhor greed and think health is more important than money – mental and physical.

  13. Yes why have exposed pipework? How odd and you see it alot???? I now see that it is not a smaller cottage just different layout. The drinks trolley again is so popular – sure a home can be found. Charlie like you works hard for you as a couple and that is the crux. My dad was so keen to create a lovely home after being brought up in the East End of London – he wanted better and he created that and did everything he could for us and I so miss him and thank him for that. The dining room has lovely wall lights – that must be your touch – be great to see a before on that too.

  14. 1200 pounds minimum stay! You could go to the Mediterranean for a week for that including flights, ridiculous.

  15. The cottage is 400 a night and you add 100 for cleaning fee and 220 for service fee – is that normal? I have never noticed extra fees on top and usually they are built in to the price. No to aubergine and yes to later changing the stairs. Surprised none of the lights are staying – not sure why they are not working but they are not offensive and seems a waste.

  16. A friend of mine is thinking of running an Air B&B but not on the doorstep and I think that is mistake as you will be forever running up and down and if it is not close what is the point? Another friend runs one in London and has no peace and is in her 70's???? I don't get it I like running my own home and peace. Both these people have pensions and don't need the income.

  17. Re light bulb doing Charlie's head in you can add pretty floral little shades? Bedroomy and great over a bed. Toilet is grim and that is what happens when you move in and the vision is in sight. Charlie has worked hard on it by the looks.

  18. I like the sound of the bathroom in No 2 as not fond of open showers – I like to feel private and warm so tongue and groove and enclosed shower – great!

  19. What is the big deal about spiders? I just let the small ones go and kill the big ones – throw a book at them normally or whack with a magazine – I left one under Yellow Pages for ages in case once years ago. Shame we could not see upstairs as before would be wonderful.

  20. I was brought up in my teenage years 28mins from Eastleach and as a teenager found it a bit boring and caught the bus to Swindon to have some nightlife at The Brunel Rooms where I danced my socks off but it was always a trek to get from our villages to a large town. One got on at Faringdon where we went to Grammar School and then me and then Shrivenham for another and a dad or boyfriend brought us home. Brunel Rooms was Tuesday night so tired for school next day but loved it. Village life was boys being petty and going over fields during the summer hols to find mushrooms and climb gates and trees.

  21. I have sisal on ground floor in 2 large mats and door mat and stairs and landing runner and for that lovely country look nothing beats.

  22. The Bull at Charlbury looks lovely but I would like a bigger piece of tart than that??? There are some strange people about and I get spouted politics and negativity by strangers in the street??? What is wrong with them but that woman could have killed someone? Stupid thing to do. She was vulnerable wandering around the countryside drunk too! I don't get gel nails – so much to do and they look awful when they grow out?? Natural lovely and god given. Must be 1.5 hours to Windsor for lunch? 3 hour trip. Phlox in the garden looks lovely and I might give that a go again although I have alot of pots and not sure if it would be happy in one of those.

  23. You are so lucky having your mum live on your homestead as it is a problem with pets and garden and house plants when you go away and it takes all the angst out of it and of course security. She is a gem. She can look after the garden, water and take dogs out and receive parcels etc. Amazing.

  24. It was Charlie's birthday – wow Happy Birthday Charlie. Not as much fuss as Josie's – all those presents and Christmas. 🙂 You look so happy with that chocolate cake.

  25. Straw top two is going to be beautiful. Re stairs I think a subtle colour to blend with the walls as much as possible- painting them white will make them stand out and will also make them look even more modern – try to blend them in to the overall decor colour would be the best option I feel and look very stylish. Great job though you both have exquisite taste. ❤❤

  26. Like you care about single use plastic YOU kill a calf a year for your new handbags and YOU put a tremendous amount of pollution in the atmosphere with JET fuel in one month with all your "holidays"!!! YOUR carbon footprint is horrendously disgusting!!!!

  27. Gorgeous cottage but £400 per night? Minimum 3 night stay. This obviously cancels out most of the average working class person to book.

  28. Charlie is such a horrible person. He stands there with all your money talking down on people who use linoleum in their kitchen yet in the next breath admits to yet another bad purchase. Not everyone has the privilege of living off our partners or mummy’s money! I’ve always said he was a vile person but this video just solidifies that! Such an arrogant, know it all, pompous, insufferable idiot

  29. If you don’t want to draw attention to the stairs in Straw Top #2 paint them the color of the room- the green color. I think it would make them fade into the background and make the room appear bigger.
