I was wondering if you've looked at the 1911 Boyscout handbook as a reference.
All great tips, I'll be checking out couple of books to complement what I have.
I also suggest people upgrade their lock to be bump key safe.
Great tips! Thank you!
I recently purchased the medical book that you talked about in the video. I have just started going through it and it has so much great information in it. Thanks for the advise on some of the other books, I will be looking for some of them. I have been expanding my garden a little bit each year and experimenting with different things to learn what works and what doesn't. I have a tiny yard but really want to try some type of fruit tree. Maybe I will try a peach or pear tree next year. I love those.
Good video! Books will definitely be a valuable asset if things go bad, especially with the grid.
Camp stoves are nice (propane type) but it’s a good investment to have some that burn natural materials. Now that I’m down south I may get one of those solar ovens. Anyone have any experience with them ??? Will it cook rice and beans? (Assuming, yes , but is it practical)
Good stuff👍🏻
the ONE and ONLY prep anybody needs to stockpile is JESUS and its FREE…matthew 6:19 and 6:25-34 and also ezekiel 7:19 👍
Thank you for the book suggestions – I just ordered 5.
Love these videos. I budget $200 a month for range time and $100 a month for prepping which includes my garden so I try to garden for free (heirloom seeds, compost, rainwater collection)
Great video ! Lots of great ideas. Thanks for sharing
Always a pleasure JR
Don't forget rat traps and fly strips.
Another good reference that is FREE is the one CityPrepping has compiled on this website. I’ve made survival binders by printing the pdf docs. If you are able to do it at work, it can save on paper and ink 😉
I work for Books a Million and it is always a good idea to check out our bargain section. We have TONS of survival manuals, and even hand to hand manuals that are fantastic for these. Some are under $10 and I love picking them up.
Also, check out the home and garden section as we have DIY books, such as those for welding, electrician reference, and even small off-grid cabin making.
Hard copy books are the best to have on hand. Electronics don't always work. Great video.
A good place to look for good books at very cheap prices is Edward R. Hamilton booksellers.I've amassed over 100 books and didn't pay over 10.00 for any of them.
THKS
I can vouch for the Jim Cobb books. They have some age on them, I got several of his books back in 2012 and 2013. Everything he wrote is still relevant today as then.
Love your channel Always very good info 💛🖖
Great topic. For reference books, check with your local Friends of Libraries. This support groups may have a used book store or even organize a local Public Libraries Warehouse Book Sales. A great place to find books, audio and video media materials for cheap. An Almanac, Dictionary, Thesaurus and even a Encyclopedia Set could be valuable when there is no internet.
Great video and on point! Books are great essential tool because we all know that the grid will go down at some point when times get ugly.
Your a great wealth of knowledge. I am so grateful that i found you. I know my 12 year old boy makes fun of the fact that i do prepare. But, i know one day he will thank me. ❤ thanks for all you do!
So true, and as many helpful subjects as you can get. I have about 5TB of data downloaded from the Internet for free on many subjects to go along with the books, knowledge will be a huge asset under some scenarios. If you look hard enough huge amount is free if you put some effort into it.
Just another Tip for your Viewers around Propane tanks; if you have an Older BBQ propane tank going empty, it’s a Great Option to Swap them out for a Newer Filled one, were you see the BlueRhino tanks at Many Locations. It a Cheaper way to get an Updated Tank being Filled, for Cheap!
Spot on about having books! The written word won’t be erased by an internet glitch! Everyone should have some books on how to live without electricity make a rocket stove to cook on,how to preserve food in a grid down situation! My plan is to cook and preserve by canning everything I have that will spoil with out refrigeration possible! Learn how to container garden ,you can take with you if you have to leave home for an extended period of time! Learn as much as you can about how to repair machinery, self sufficiency is key!
Tip to you and your viewers. I have purchase about 30 survival books, covering plants, animals, medical, shelter, hunting, fishing, radiation, etc. I had a printer shave the spines off the books, then scan every page in sequence to PDF. Then the printer shrink wrapped the books for me (which I will later have hole-punched for bind hoops). The PDFs went onto flash drives which are stored in a Faraday can. This way I can take an entire library with me on a flash drive, viewable on old cell phones and notes pads also stored in Faraday cans, along with small solar chargers, cords, etc. Stage II will involve burying Faraday cans on walking but-out route locations.
Look for manual tools.
Many Thxs JR for this presentation and the visuals that highlighted your discussion. Without them I would have been lost in the tools area! Will review this presentation many times with notebook in hand! I really love your down to earth presentations! ❤️ Keep on keeping on!👍🏽😊
Another great video!
Love your common-sense informative videos! Thank you!
Another really good one, JR! I've been a book addict all my life, and have a pretty comprehensive and eclectic collection! Just bought a few more portable water containers, and a stand alone sealer for my mylar bags! It's starting into harvest season, and the beans, peas, tomatoes and potatoes are bursting out! Lots of work in the weeks and months to come, but that is better than the alternative. Stay well, and best wishes to you and yours, my friend!! 👍
I have a lot of how to books but get a foraging book with pictures is important
Great list, especially the book list! I have quite a few, but a couple I don't. Thanks so much for sharing! Take care and stay safe!
Water storage: If you want as much storage as cheaply as possible, divide cost by gallons. It will tell you how much it costs to store your water. $164/50gal = $3.28 to store one gallon.
HELLO GTSY
I just ordered instructions for picking locks and typing knots to go along with my encyclopedia of country living. Also have first aid books and certification.
Good video
I purchased many of my garden tools at ReStore and other thrift stores. It saved me lots of money and I helped a charity help others.
I got a good deal on a handy man series books. 21 books for $21.
A friend has those OG Foxfire books she bought in the 70s. Old hardcovers. Good reads. Great insights to the mindset of the people in the books showing and sharing skills. A different generation, with alot of knowledge being passed on to us.
Spring is the best time for buying trees for selection BUT fall is the best time to plan trees for survival of the trees.
I truly appreciate what you said about my books, sir. Thank you so much!
This is one of the only channels I've seen that identified the mark correctly. I'm so proud of you both. I pray many people pay attention to you message and stop following doctrines of devils meant to deceive.
Dollar store has plenty of candles….
When the world ends I'm going into the wilderness, take my dog and become a mountain man, and NEVER go back. Sometimes I can't stand people
