Watch as we turn a huge acrylic cube into a custom built living jungle! By using all @ZooMed products we carefully design the ultimate tropical vivarium for a special turtle! This epic enclosure can also house a wide variety of animals including dart frogs, treefrogs, snakes, geckos and other lizards. See how it all came together step by step.

Special thanks to @BlakesExoticAnimalRanch for donating the turtle for this build!

Who is Garden State Tortoise?

However you made it here, thank you and welcome to Garden State Tortoise. Garden State Tortoise is home to hundreds of animals from all around the world. We are a family dedicated to adventure, conservation of wildlife, and all things nature. We are a reptile rescue and breeding facility for more than ten years, offering refuge to those who need it, and working everyday to protect the beautiful world of reptiles in any way we can. Here on our YouTube channel you will be able to join us on our animal adventures while learning how to care for, protect, properly identify, feed and even breed many species of turtle, tortoise, snake and lizard. We even work with frogs and salamanders! We hope you enjoy our videos and help us share them with the world so we can continue to educate people of all ages about herpetology.

  1. I've been following you guys ever since the snake discovery build off (which by no surprise you guys WON!) and you never cease to amaze me with what incredible and beautiful habitats you create for your animals ❤😊

  2. I also watch Blake,he has some awesome turtles& tortoises of his own!you always put together the most awesome enclosures, you and Casey did an awesome job,and the turtle..what a beautiful sweet shell baby🐢

  3. Hi Garden State! I love your content so much and I have a question I have been thinking about. Do all turtle species lay eggs without actually mating and most of all I'd love to know if box turtle females will lay eggs without a mate?

  4. I used to keep Centeal American Ornate Woods, R. Phulcerima. Most destructive turtle ever, they poop like cows as soon you clean the water area, flip everything up side down and crush/eat any plant. I gave up and sold them😂

  5. Absolutely beautiful! You did an awesome job! Would a tropical setup like that also work for a small redfoot tortoise, or would it be too damp?

  6. Thanks for posting. i just got an ornate wood turtle a few days ago. It's a similar species .really line enclosure.

  7. I have a question i saw your website about all testudo graeca species but I didn't find any info on how to distinguish each subspecie even though there are pics of each subspecie is really hard to tell. Is there a way of how to identify them in a book, pdf file, forum? I will be very happy if you answer my question. Thanks a lot!!

  8. That enclosure would be perfect for black breasted leaf turtles you guys did an awesome job going to have one happy turtle 👍

  9. I think she should share it with some bright and/ or milky forest frogs …. that would definitely thrive in a tropical rainforest! and they could stay there after she out grows it.

  10. That is a beautiful habitat! How (and how often) do you clean up turtle poop and leftover food?
