Hey y’all! I’m a new Agricultural Education teacher in NC and have inherited a greenhouse at my new job. It’s an even span greenhouse that holds 10 tables with a Wadsworth MiniSTEP Control system for heating/cooling/ventilation but I’m having trouble figuring out how to work it. The system has the ability to have four different setpoints that I currently have set on 85, 75, 70, and 65 and are all currently set to cool because its summer. Despite this, only the main fan comes on along with the cool cell and the thermometer reads anywhere from 110-120 degrees. My plants are all still alive and retaining water so I feel like this may be wrong. Do y’all have any advice for me or things I could try? Anything helps!

    1. Any breakers tripped?

    2. Can you manually turn on all components to verify they do in fact run? Greenhouse environments are pretty brutal.

    3. Are the switches on the LST controller in the right position?

    4. Multimeter time! (Probably don’t mess with the HV stuff unless you’re trained/allowed to)

    5. Call Wadsworth.

    Good luck!

*Temps in the 110s and 120s aren’t all that uncommon and won’t kill most things. I don’t doubt the reading is accurate.

Buy some white shade cloth, stretch it across the outside of the GH.

Use a multimeter and test to see how far power is going through your environmental control panel on any devices that aren’t working.
