thank you for the video, I'm not growing food in my back yard but I'm finding sawdust all over my privacy fence. we don't have fire ants or even biting aunts. do you think a borax/sugar mix or Amdro will work on mine as part of my strategy? I have been told I have soldier ants that tunnel through the fence.

i believe we've created the ideal grounds for ants by building a fire pit area. We had to build up one end of the pavers area due to a 1 foot slope in our lawn. Would you agree that using paver base sand to build up and level the area, this created a building structure for ants? i'm on a constant offensive using amdro in the yard and ortho home defense along the house (brick structure). It is july in texas, so as you mentioned the seven application would be ideal in the fall for a first application.

Not sure about the mum extract. I worked in childcare, and mums are on the no-no list. Also, I have standard top soil, after that, it's all clay. Today, I mowed 25 fire ant nests on 1.25 acre.
Don't EVER get rid of your ants until you find out what how they keep the termite populations down. Remember, nature has a designed balance. Do you think Orkin doesn't know this. Its hugh business for pest control companies to eliminate ants. Then you'll be paying for termite killing. Back and forth. Its just nature.
Aren't we gardening to be part of that? I'm not saying to not push back on the fire ants in the yard or protect your kitchen from the seasonal black ant raids.

All those products are illegal in Germany, for a good reason, killing all insects just to be protected from few of them !!
I have ants .I don't know what type of ants they are. They haven't bit me.
I don't like synthetic poison though.I would use the pyrethrin
